Join Ireland’s youngest humanitarians and participate in the formation of tomorrow’s world.
To be a part of the Kinsale Branch as a Youth Member, you must have membership of the Irish Red Cross National Society. (See Volunteer With Us section on this website for a copy of the application form).
All Irish Red Cross Members between the ages of 4 and 25 are automatically Youth Members.
Irish Red Cross Head Office will issue a membership number on receipt of a valid application. Send this number to our Youth Officer to become enrolled in our weekly Youth Sessions.
As a Youth Member you will have the opportunity to participate in local and national non-uniformed Branch Youth activities: such as the Options Programme, international youth camps, national competitions, and the Gaisce Award Programme.
In addition, those interested in First Aid, will have the opportunity once involved to apply to become Cadets (12-16 years old) or Novices (16-18 years old). Cadets and Novices are certified first aiders who will receive additional first aid training and a uniform, so they can then observe on selected Ambulance Duties.
No matter which option you choose, volunteering with the Irish Red Cross can be a really rewarding experience. You can learn useful life skills, meet new friends, and serve your community. So whether for gaining experience for a possible future healthcare career or just looking for a fun after-school activity, we look forward to hearing from anyone interested!
